Can you please consider adding User Preferences endpoints?

Hi Louis and all,

The current Web Services API has a readUserFormatting object (https://developer.intacct.com/api/company-console/users/#user-date-and-time-formatting-preferences) that is very helpful for getting a User's locale, date format and time zone etc. for internationalization and localization e.g. for 3rd party integrations etc.

The new REST API does not seem to have this functionality, so we're wondering if there are plans to add it, or even better, if there are plans to allow configuration of all User Preferences via the new REST API?

A common question from clients regards automatic configuration of Users (as Sage Intact is typically one of many services that must be configured for a new User). We can do most of the configuration programmatically, but not a User's preferences.

Also, it would be particularly useful if we could change the Email notifications > Requests for approval > Approval delegation User Preferences programmatically e.g. to allow an Approver, or admin etc. to configure delegation. Currently, all User Restrictions (User Entities, user Departments etc.) must be removed from a User before these User Preferences become visible in the UI (and before delegation can be configured in the General Ledger and Purchasing subscriptions), so a User must first note these values, remove them, configure delegation, then add these values once more (every time delegation is required i.e. whenever each User goes on leave or is sick etc.) Being able to do this programmatically would be less error prone for the User, and save a fair bit of effort in cases where there are many User Restrictions in place.

Aslan,

In general, everything we have available in the XML API will be available in the REST API as a baseline requirement. If you do not see this exposed in the REST API currently then it is still in development. I will pass along your other feedback, thank you!!
