Recommended Posts

Hello,

We have an employee expense management application. We want to integrate our application with Sage 200.
Can you please let us know:
1. Is Sage 200 cloud based? Can we integrate our app in real time?
2. What is the process to integrate?
3. Is the "Sage Business Cloud Accounting API" is the one to integrate with Sage200?

we would like to get  these answers to proceed further. Please do the needful.

Thanks!

Hi Surya,

Thank you for showing an interest in integrating with Sage 200.

In answer to your questions:

  1. The data for Sage 200 Standard is held in Azure. There is still a desktop application which needs to be installed for desktop users to access this data. Sage 200 Professional can either be hosted locally on your own in house server, or there is an offering that has Sage 200 Professional hosted in Azure. If you have a Business Partner, or a client who has a Sage Business Partner, it would be best to discuss which variant of Sage 200 they have.
Alternatively, should you choose to join the Developers Programme to develop for both the API and the SDK that Sage 200 has to offer, you will be able to use a copy of Sage 200 Professional in Azure yourself.
The API for Sage 200 Standard is enabled by default, however for Sage 200 Professional you will need to go through a series of steps to enable the API. These are covered and supported by our network of Sage Business Partners. Further information can be found here.
The API does work in real time.
  2. You will need to have the API enabled before integrating. Information on how to get started with the Sage 200 API, including requesting Development credentials from ourselves can be found here.
  3. No, the Sage Business Cloud Accounting API is for our Sage Business Cloud Accounting product. All Sage 200 API documentation including endpoints can be found here.

Hopefully this answers all of your questions, but if there is anything else you'd like to know just let me know!

Thanks Ian for your response.

Sage200 product applies only for UK? What is the equivalent product for other Countries?

If you have different product(s), what is the best way for us to address globally?

Will the api endpoints differ vary based on your final product?

Please advice.

Thanks!
